Benjamin Conway
Ben Conway is founder and managing director of Johnston Blakely & Company. Prior to establishing Johnston Blakely, he was head of Kaufman & Company Life Science Investment Banking. Ben was also head of biotechnology banking for Adams, Harkness & Hill where he secured a top ranking for the firm in middle market M&A. His previous experience also includes positions with Abbott Laboratories and Bain & Company as well as two biotech start-ups, one of which, Gamera Bioscience, he co-founded. He received an M.B.A., with honors, from the Harvard Business School and graduated magna cum laude from Bowdoin College.

Patrick Kager
Pat Kager is a co-founder of MedPharma Partners, Johnston Blakely's S.T.A.T. Initiative business partner and is also a Johnston Blakely registered securities representative. Pat has over 15 years of consulting experience working with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and healthcare organizations during which time he has developed extensive industry insight. Prior to MedPharma Partners, Pat was a Partner in Deloitte Consulting’s Life Sciences practice. There he led the creation of the firm’s pharmaceutical R&D and M&A market offerings while serving as lead client service partner for several top-10 pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Before Deloitte Consulting, Pat was a senior manager in the Boston Consulting Group’s healthcare practice. Pat earned an MBA with Distinction from Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School of Business Administration and received MS/BS degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University.

Susan L.N. Vogt
Susan Vogt, a Johnston Blakely senior advisor, was most recently President and Chief Executive Officer of SeraCare Life Sciences (NASDAQ: SRLS), a company she joined following its Chapter 11 filing, where she engineered a successful corporate turnaround, returning the company to growth and profitability. She joined SeraCare after a 23- year career with Millipore Corporation, the multinational bioscience company. Ms. Vogt held multiple positions of increasing responsibility at Millipore, advancing to become Corporate Vice President and President of its $500 million BioPharmaceutical Division. Ms. Vogt is a member of the Board of Directors of TAP Biosystems and Andor Technology plc (LSE: AND) and has served as a consultant to various public and private life science companies as well as private equity and venture capital firms

Robert van Nostrand
Robert van Nostrand, a Johnston Blakely senior advisor, was previously with OSI Pharmaceuticals where he held multiple positions including Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer during his 21-year tenure. While with OSI, Bob successfully raised in excess of $1.4 billion through both debt and equity financings. He was also instrumental in completing multiple acquisitions with an aggregate value of over $300 million as well as several collaboration agreements with major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. OSI Pharmaceuticals was acquired by Japan’s Astellas Pharma for over $4.0 billion. More recently he has been active with several early-stage life science companies including AGI Dermatics and Aureon Biosciences. A certified public accountant, Bob is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Metabolix and Achillion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ACHN). In addition, he is a board member and former chairman of the New York Biotechnology Association.

John Brooks
John Brooks, a Johnston Blakely senior advisor, co-founded the venture capital firm Prism Venture Partners. During his ten-year tenure with Prism, the firm raised $1.25 billion across six venture funds. John led the firm's healthcare investment activities including its role in the creation of companies such as Insulet Corporation (NASDAQ: PODD). Currently, John is the President & Chief Executive Officer of Harvard’s Joslin Diabetes Center, is a member of the steering committee of MassMedic's MedTech Ignite (Inspiring Growth in New Innovative Technology Enterprises) program and is on the Draper BioAdvisory Board.  His previous experience also includes senior management positions at Pfizer, both with Pfizer/Valleylab as General Manager and with Pfizer/Strato.

Michael Webb
Mike Webb, a Johnston Blakely senior advisor, is President and CEO of Allegro Diagnostics. Previously, Mike was President and CEO of EPIX Pharmaceuticals, a company he joined shortly after its Series A financing. While with EPIX, he completed over $225 million in public and private financings, including its 1997 IPO, and raised an additional $150 million through corporate partnerships. Prior to EPIX, Mike was Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and Strategic Planning for Ciba Diagnostics. He was also President and CEO of Ascent Therapeutics where he raised the company’s initial $20 million in venture financing. Mr. Webb holds an M.B.A. with highest honors from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
